In honor of Vegetarian Month, a team of our MegaFood family committed to eating only vegetarian foods last week. Here is some of the feedback on how it went:
I was very surprised by how delicious vegetarian food can be. Before this week when someone mentioned vegetarian I thought “salad”. Not anymore, each day someone brought in a vegetarian meal that was out of this world! ~ Amy
It was great to see the sense of community that “vegetarian week” brought about at the office. Everyone was very open to trying new things. As a long-time vegetarian, I loved seeing others experiencing a vegetarian diet – they realized it was much easier than they expected! I can’t wait to do it again! ~ Abigail
I'm became more concerned about eating meat, not necessarilly for health reasons, but with regard to where the meat comes from. I am actually going to stop eating meat. Reducing meat consumption with help me to keep my food budget in check. If i ever do feel the need to eat some meat i will go to the added expense of buying local, organic and grass fed. I really enjoyed the community atmosphere that came out of gathering together and sharing food. ~ Heather
I wouldn't have made it if it weren't for the fantastic ladies at MegaFood that made sure there was wonderful food in the kitchen each and every day! I love veggie fasts - they always make me feel more energy and connection to my food - you have to give it thought, which I think really helps your overall physical and mental health. ~ Robert
Being that I am a vegetarian it was especially nice to witness everyone here embracing a meatless diet during our Veg week. It was a great opportunity to demonstrate how simple and easy vegetarian cooking can be and to encourage people to incorporate more meatless meals into their diet. Additionally, nothing brings a family closer than a delicious homemade healthy meal! ~ Lisa
Vegetarian week for me was good. The week prior to beginning this I found out I was highly allergic to dairy so ultimately I was vegan! I had to pick and choose the foods that were served very carefully as many dishes included cows milk. ~ Stacey
Any thoughts on what you would like us to challenge ourselves with next? Do share - we love to hear from you :)
