The 'Cold' Connection

Yeast

Yeast is the most important asset in the process of creating many of the Cold Fusion™ FoodState® Nutrients. Finding the best possible strain of yeast for the transformation from food fractions to Cold Fusion™ FoodState® Nutrients was imperative.

Nutrient Yeast Challenge

As we experimented with the possible yeast strains, our research revealed that they tended to morph or mutate. Strains of yeast, when allowed to change their structure or mutate, affected our final results. We needed to find a method of stabilizing the yeast to ensure each Cold Fusion™ FoodState® Nutrient was consistent batch after batch.

The Cold Solution

While investigating the science required to produce the Cold Fusion™ FoodState® Nutrients, our research team discovered many documented referrals to the use of cold materials. The most interesting was the use of cryogenically stored yeast. Cold was the answer. Cryogenically (cold) stored yeast doesn't mutate. Cold stored yeast is protected from contamination by other yeast strains and bacteria as well.

Additional Cold Benefits

The discovery of cold yeast as the solution to the challenge of yeast consistency revealed additional benefits of cold. If cold was the solution for deterioration of our most important asset, yeast, would cold solve other food deterioration challenges?

Thermal Deterioration

Thermal Deterioration (heat), second only to bacterial contamination, is a serious challenge faced by food processors. When fresh food is exposed to heat, it loses nutritive value. It's ironic that the bacteria contamination challenge for food is solved by heat. The process of sterilization causes Thermal Deterioration of the Food.

Heat Kills

Food processors commonly use heat to eliminate bacteria. Challenge number one, bacteria, is solved. It's that simple. Cook the food and the bacteria is gone. Heat also destroys many of the beneficial phytonutrients and enzymes in the food. One problem is solved while another is created. DAMAGED FOOD.

Cold as a Solution

Our decision to use Fresh Frozen Raw fruits, vegetables and live yeast in the creation of our products required us to develop processes to preserve their nutritive value. We needed fresh food that maintains its cellular life force. Fresh Frozen Raw fruits and vegetables, which are harvested and immediately frozen to preserve their peak nutritive value, was the answer. With living food cells there is always the potential for bacterial contamination. We thought back to the solution for the mutating yeast. Cryogenically stored yeast also prevents bacterial contamination. Cold Food was the solution.
