Learning and Development Specialist

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:


This highly visible, hands-on position will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and subject matter experts to deliver transformational learning experiences to all levels of the organization with a focus on developing leadership capabilities. This position will be responsible for programmatic and consultative work associated with leadership development content and programs. This includes consulting with executive team members and employees to assess learning needs, employee readiness and performance gaps to develop strategies that align with MegaFood's business goals and objectives. This position is responsible for managing communication and execution of training initiatives and programs, reserving training space, ordering necessary supplies, room set up and break down, and material inventory and preparation. This position will also be responsible for the execution of MegaFood's formal new employee onboarding program.  This position is responsible to ensure the highest quality plans are developed and implemented that are aligned with the talent needs of the business, linked to MegaFood's key competencies, and values the cultural framework of MegaFood.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Identify, design and manage targeted talent development programs, tools and processes that enhance the capability of key leaders for the entire organization.
  • Collaborate with the the Executive Leadership team to develop a succession planning model for MegaFood.
  • Identify a custom MegaFood portfolio of development experiences and tools for senior leaders, hi-potentials and developing managers/leaders, and tracks participation and impact of those for accelerating development.
  • Support MegaFood's Learning Management System (LMS), rollout,  design, content, and metrics.
  • Conduct organizational needs assessments to determine knowledge and skills gaps.
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, develop an overall training plan to help resolve identified skills gaps and topical training initiatives (Onboarding, Asana, Expensify, sales tools) within the company.
  • Implement metrics and analytics that effectively measure, benchmark and monitor the learning and development impact to the organization.
  • Work with external educators, vendors and consultants when necessary, and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
  • Stay abreast of latest developments in management, leadership, and organizational development areas to serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant regarding critical people issues, team effectiveness, change management, employee engagement and cultural transformation.
  • Ensure that the company’s performance management system is a tool that encourages ownership of employee development opportunities and identifies essential  competency needs by employee role/leadership level.
  • Keep current on effective training delivery and/or curriculum development techniques.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • L&D EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 - 6 years in learning & development roles in a dynamic environment– including true ownership and execution of design, development, execution and measurement
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Planning and executing learning and development initiatives/events – managing multiple projects at once and thriving with both long term planning and immediate needs
  • PRODUCING RESULTS: Moving from ideas to action quickly and constantly moving things forward
  • USING TECHNOLOGY: Comfortable with basic productivity software (MS Office, Google Apps, Asana), Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone is a plus!) and platforms (online, mobile, social, etc), webinar/video conferencing tools

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

This position will be responsible for all facets of work in the raw material warehouse, including, but not limited to: physical and systematic raw material movements, inbound and outbound material movements and supporting the manufacturing departments.  This position will also support the Inventory Control team by performing cycle counts of our products, researching inventory variances, and entering adjustments in the perpetual inventory, all while respecting company system transaction policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Build raw material kits for Manufacturing departments
  • Perform daily cycle counts, entering necessary inventory adjustments in the perpetual inventory system
  • Check received items against packing list and record discrepancies
  • Data entry of receipts, stockroom, and shipped items
  • Document incoming and outgoing material and supplies
  • Must follow prescribed procedures for safeguarding, storage, handing and accounting for item and material designated as classified, restricted, special project, or high priority

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

The Director of DTC Marketing is responsible for MegaFood's digital revenue generation strategy. This includes the management of both owned 1st party ecommerce and direct to consumer strategy as well as customer marketing for 3rd party channels such as Amazon.com, and several smaller internet retailers.

The position also manages the strategic and tactical direction of our digital efforts to drive awareness and conversion online. The Director will lead integrated marketing strategy and drive growth through data-driven marketing, digital demand generation campaigns and product positioning.

Strategy:

  • Develop and execute robust ecommerce marketing and revenue generation strategy with short and long term KPIs.
  • Develop customer acquisition and retention strategies (email marketing, loyalty / subscription programs). Develop and manage execution of SEO/SEM strategy.
  • Develop and manage execution of all digital marketing initiatives including email, paid media, and promotions.
  • Develop and manage execution of strategies which increase traffic, conversion rates, and average order value across all ecommerce channels and partner sites.
  • Create online promotion calendar and work closely with Brand Management to coordinate efforts in retail.

Analytics:

  • Must be able to qualitatively and quantitatively measure results and achieve financial goals and KPIs using Micosoft Excel, Google Suite, and new analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in social and digital analytics, including but not limited to site traffic, conversion, spend, click-through rate, etc. Manage and track media budgets and sales forecasting for online.
  • Conduct online surveys, A/B testing, and the ability to effectively analyze feedback.

Management & Communication:

  • Ability to develop and manage a resource network to accomplish implementation needs.
  • Ability to manage design and development teams to create high quality websites and landing pages that result in increased sales.
  • Ability to work directly with Logistics and Supply Chain departments to achieve exemplary consumer and customer experiences, ensure inventory for promotions, and focus promotional strategy on short code product.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Set the strategic direction for all Quality functions including organization, administration and management.  Responsibilities include ensuring the company’s products are manufactured in a manner that is consistent with applicable cGMPs and meet all relevant quality standards, including the company’s own high quality standards. Leading and overseeing the company’s Analytical Lab, managing the company’s quality control and assurance programs, and establishing and maintaining appropriate Quality processes, policies and standard operating procedures to achieve the company’s objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop organizational structure and fostering talent management, including performance and succession planning.

  • Guide the Quality Control team to ensure the company has robust product stability programs for domestic and international products.
  • Oversee the approval of all specifications, procedures and formulas that impact the strength, quality, purity, and efficacy of manufactured and contract-manufactured products.
  • Ensures the proper investigation into the root cause of product and/or process failures, and assists in determining appropriate product disposition and/or process improvements.
  • Ensures any external laboratories used by the company comply with GLP standards.
  • Interfaces with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Manufacturing and R&D teams to help ensure the successful launch of new products.
  • Collaborates with R&D and/or outside contract labs to ensure seamless method validation and transfer.
  • Establishes and manages the Quality budget and provides periodic forecast updates consistent with business operating plans and requirements.
  • Guides the activities of the Quality Assurance and Supplier Assurance groups to ensure compliance with applicable cGMPs, GLP and HACCP, and all relevant quality standards.
  • Oversees the quality evaluation and approval of raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers and outside laboratories.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related sciences.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Manager of Quality preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred.
  • Requires eight to twelve years’ experience in dietary supplement, food or pharmaceutical testing laboratory operations that includes a minimum of five years managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a collaborative environment with a positive leadership style and a hands-on approach that emphasizes team work, influencing, motivating, and consensus building
  • A strategic thinker with strong business acumen
  • A critical thinker with strong deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • A comprehensive knowledge of chemical and microbial analysis, manufacturing operations, sanitation, GMP’s and GLP’s and the theories and general principles behind them.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of compliance with cGMP regulations, Food, Dietary Supplement and Drug laws and federal and state safety requirements.  .
  • An understanding of laboratory equipment such as HPLC, ICP, Spectrophotometer, GC, FTIR and dissolution apparatus.
  • An understanding and experience with all relevant microbiological testing, methods development/validation and environmental monitoring programs required to meet all regulatory requirements.

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

The Online Channel Sales Leader is responsible for the oversight, leadership and development of the MegaFood online sales channel, including both the Megafood and INNATE Response brands.  In this leadership role the successful candidate will motivate and develop a team as well as engage with our home office team as our online channel sales expert. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Responsible for the leadership and development of the MegaFood online sales channel team, providing direction, structure, development, and guidance on building and expanding the online sales channel.
  • Create and implement an integrated Go-To-Market Plan for the online sales channel including but not limited to Amazon.  
  • Collaborate with our internal digital team on educating our online retailers on MegaFood initiatives and priorities.
  • Track KPI's and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the strategic direction and account penetration at Amazon and Netrush.
  • Collaborate with our Digital Excellence Team, offering expertise on field sales execution excellence as well as the viability of additional online digital opportunities.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend emerging online channel sales opportunities ensuring that MegaFood is competitive and current.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance standards and processes. Manages quality improvement activities. Creates common business specific quality measurements and track improvement against these metrics. Works cross-departmentally to assist with ongoing projects. Performs other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintains Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Administration Product Manufacturing facilities by adhering to the documentation structure to provide cGMP compliance.
  • Manages Organic Administration support Certifications, Kosher certification and Canadian Registration
  • Manages Internal Audit Program and conduct cGMP audits on all manufacturing and support processes.
  • Assists manufacturing in preparing for Regulatory Audits including conducting internal audits to identify non-compliance conditions and resolve problems prior to the audit. Ensure corrective actions are effective
  • Performs Mock-Recall audit - Choose representative product and follow all interim inventories from raw material, bulk & finished product through the manufacturing facility and finally to the ultimate customer with available shipping data/contacts for each shipment
  • Conducts investigation into non-conformances identified through the customer complaint program and prepare final reports
  • Manages Customer Complaint process including ensuring that corrective actions are timely, complete and effective.
  • Conducts specification and label reference review for new or changed labels.
  • Conducts data analysis and experiments to analyze trends and improve performance of manufacturing processes
  • Prepares pre-audit documentation and participate in customer audits as appropriate
  • Prepares corrective action plan and track completion of activities
  • Perform Supplier Qualification Audits as necessary
  • Perform duties of the FDA Recall Coordinator
  • Lead a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) multidisciplinary team to provide a preventive approach to food safety.
  • Manages people within the Quality Assurance organization to achieve goals that maximize our effectiveness and achieve our quality vision.
  • Manages a CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) program to provide root cause analysis in reducing the amount of non-conformances in the Operations group.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Provides guidance to the Regulatory team to ensure that existing and new products and new and existing campaigns comply with all applicable domestic and foreign laws, rulings and regulations affecting the use of ingredients, labeling and advertising and claims usage.
  • Provides guidance to and partners with Marketing and Sales on product concepts, claims and formulations to assure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including FDA and FTC requirements
  • Monitors the development of and assesses the impact of new and proposed changes in laws, rulings, regulations and enforcement activities impacting the use of ingredients, product safety, labeling and advertising.  Submits comments on proposed changes to regulatory agencies as deemed appropriate. Communicates new requirements and changes within the organization, and assures compliance.
  • Helps identify and address potential patent and trademark issues in conjunction with in-house legal counsel.
  • Oversees the team in managing foreign product registration requirements.
  • Participates in appropriate CRN Committees and Task Forces.
  • Assists in researching and responding to issues related to litigation and other legal matters
  • Develops staff, drives budget accuracy and participates in cross functional leadership meetings and projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a BA degree, preferably in the physical or life sciences. Masters degree a plus.
  • A certification from Regulatory Affairs Professional Society is a plus.
  • Requires at least five years experience in regulatory affairs, with an emphasis on regulatory issues related to dietary supplements.

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to research, develop and pilot new product concepts and optimize existing product efficiencies.  He/she will be responsible for working with the R&D team to develop and pilot new formulations. In addition, he/she will work with the Operations team as needed throughout the pilot and scale up to ensure that processes run smoothly. This position is also responsible for managing investigations, experimental design, and formulation testing.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Develop new products, along with improvements to current products to deliver on objectives of the annual business plans.
  • Apply sound laboratory techniques and aseptic handling techniques to pilot runs for new products.
  • Lead multiple complex development projects using detailed investigations, well thought out experimental design, sound scientific techniques and data based decision-making.

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for forecasting demand for select product lines sold by MegaFood by using a variety of different forecasting methods to include but not limited to: statistics, historical trending data, market analysis and industry knowledge.  All activities are to be managed in accordance with the company’s goals of safety, quality, regulatory preparedness, financial performance, environmental mission, inventory controls and customer service.  This is a highly interactive position with peers in many other disciplines of the business.  The ability to prioritize and be decisive is imperative for this position. Must be able to handle a diverse range of duties with limited supervision as well as demonstrate initiative and independent judgment. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop accurate 18-month demand forecasts based on sales input, market analysis, and statistical modeling forecasts used for financial reporting, capacity planning, production planning, materials planning, and raw material forecasts for vendors.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, review past promotions, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross functionally to reconcile discrepancies in predicted vs. actual and refine the forecast model to reflect updates sales and marketing assumptions; Analyze sales trends by product line in order to proactively predict future trends as well as interact with sales and marketing to understand forecast drivers.
  • Provide data and input as well as participate in the monthly S&OP meeting cycle.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Work directly with external customers on forecasting and inventory maintenance on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Create statistical forecasts: gather, analyze and validate data , execute statistical modeling software, review resulting statistical forecast model, apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting, summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts
  • Review sales plans , customer finance Budget Updates or Latest Estimates and demand drivers: present, solicit, and assess feedback on the various forecasts from sales, and finance; recommend adjustments for operational forecasts; review promotional plans with sale; achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing and finance personnel; prepare relevant material to facilitate research and discussion; provide input to volume planning (Latest Estimates / annual process); facilitate and manage demand planning/customer meetings; achieve consensus with internal partners
  • Maintain demand planning system and software; enter and modify data and ensure the accuracy of product hierarchy; monitor trends in forecasts; identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence; Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required and/or 3-5 years of similar experience in a forecasting role
