As a busy mom, finding the best vitamins for energy and wellness has been a mission of mine. Read on for my list of the best vitamins to boost energy and how they fit into my overall daily wellness routine!
As I inch closer to age 40, I’ve noticed that my energy levels have begun to decrease a bit.
I’ve been working really hard over the past few months to improve my diet and to focus on being more intentional with my self-care routine.
I’ve also been researching the best vitamins for energy because I believe a quality supplement will compliment my wellness regimen.
While there are truly a plethora of vitamins that can help support healthy energy levels, I decided to focus on trying to boost my vitamin B intake – specifically vitamin B12.
B Vitamins for Energy*
Did you know that our bodies need vitamin B12 to form red blood cells? Our red blood cells transport oxygen in the blood throughout our bodies which kickstarts energy production. Vitamin B12 is also vital in supporting neurological function in the brain. When we’re deficient in B12, we’re at greater risk of feeling fatigued.
When I found out that one of the best vitamins for energy is vitamin B12, I sought out ways to incorporate it into my daily wellness routine. Along with choosing foods high in B12 (eggs, milk, and fish), I’m also loving the new MegaFood® gummy vitamins.
If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, MegaFood® is a leading maker of premium supplements. Made with real, whole foods from farm partners, MegaFood® supplements deliver essential vitamins and minerals.
The new MegaFood® gummy vitamins are made with real foods sourced from farm partners. They contain no artificial or added colors, or flavors, and contain only two grams of sugar or less per serving. Plus, each serving contains 24 mcg of B12 to help support cellular energy levels and production*.
They recently launched two flavors of B12 energy gummy vitamins, and I’m a huge fan of both! The MegaFood® B12 Energy Cranberry features a tart, farm-fresh cranberry flavor that is totally delicious! I also really like the MegaFood® B12 Energy Ginger! These ginger B12 gummy vitamins deliver a zing of unique and yummy ginger root flavor straight from Kauai Organic Farms in Hawaii.
I’ve been taking the recommended two MegaFood® gummy vitamins every day for the past month. I actually keep a container of these B12 gummies in my bag and usually enjoy them when I’m on-the-go.
I love that I can get a much-needed burst of B vitamins for energy all wrapped up in a delicious gummy vitamin that I actually look forward to having each and every day.
More Ways to Boost Your Energy
1. Follow a regular sleep schedule. I know it sounds basic to advise you to get plenty of sleep, but it’s something I’m very passionate about.
As a busy mother of two, sometimes the hours in the evening are my only window of time to unwind and do the things I want to do.
While I don’t want to give up this time, I do know that at my age (38 at the time of writing this post), my body requires a certain amount of quality sleep in order to feel energized the next day.
I like to get a minimum of seven hours of sleep, but eight hours of sleep is ideal for my body. I set an alarm on my phone to go off when it’s my bedtime!
2. Drink plenty of water. Again, this is a very basic step in improving your self-care, but it’s so essential. While it may seem necessary to load-up on caffeinated beverages throughout the day to stay energized, these often just mask feelings of fatigue.
You can also develop a dependency on caffeine, which can make you extremely tired during the times when you’re not consuming it. It’s not a good hamster wheel to be on!
Getting plenty of water will actually hydrate your body and make you feel more energized. Best of all, it’s all natural.
3. Eat more energy-boosting foods. It’s so true that you are what you eat. Start reaching for healthier foods and ditch the drive-thru to feel better, fast. When you incorporate more fresh fruit, vegetables, and lean protein into your diet you will find that your whole body functions more efficiently and feels more energized.
Be Intentional About Your Self-Care Routine
As I mentioned, I’m really trying to focus on being more intentional about caring for myself. As a busy mother, wife, and business owner, it’s so easy to put my own physical and emotional needs on the backburner.
For me, setting reminders on my phone every day to do certain tasks like drink water, go to bed at a certain hour, or take my B12 gummies has been a game changer!
