MegaFood is joining the largest climate strike in the world, happening this September 20th, 2019. Millions of us will walk out of schools, businesses and homes to demand transformative action be taken to address the climate crisis. We have learned this past year that when you speak up with enough voices, people listen and the groundwork for change is laid!
This past May MegaFood rallied in Washington, D.C. and hand-delivered over 100,000 signatures of support to ban glyphosate as a dessicant to the EPA. Now we wait for an official response and in the meantime, we are going to keep the pressure on because we don’t want glyphosate anywhere near our food, families or supplements!
Our new sourcing standard is one of our biggest steps yet to revolutionize our agricultural system so we can combat climate change by building carbon rich soil and increasing the nutrient density of food.
As a B Corporation, we are responsible for constant improvement. In fact, we are held accountable for it and you not only have to reassess, but improve year over year. What’s really cool about the B Corp mentality is that considering the earth as a major stakeholder in all of our business decisions is actually a part of our business model now. And since we’re already obsessed with quality and transparency, this business philosophy is a natural fit.
It’s hard to pronounce, and harder to avoid. But what is glyphosate? And, do you really need to add it to your already-too-long list of worries?
GMO, or no? Making sense of the new GMO labeling rule.
UPDATE! Pro-pesticide Rider Dropped from Final Farm Bill
To reclaim the health of our soil, which our future depends on, we all need to first understand the role soil health plays in the big picture of our food system. We also need to understand the role of farming, and the complexities of our agricultural system, before we can chip away at a solution. As a maker of premium supplements made with real food from trusted farm partners, the soil is everything to us and we share a commitment with our farmers towards organic and regenerative agriculture.
| Erin Stokes, ND | November 2018 | Did you know that glyphosate is the number one herbicide used in the United States?
Are you starting the day with a dose of glyphosate? The Environmental Working Group recently released test results showing significant glyphosate residues on some of the most popular breakfasts foods.
Here’s a look at my top five ways to show your local farmers the love, countdown style:
| Bethany Davis, MegaFood Director of Advocacy & Government Affairs | September 28, 2018 | MegaFood is leading the charge to get the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ban glyphosate as a desiccant in the production of conventional crops such as oats and wheat, a process that introduces the herbicide into our everyday food.
| Robert U Craven, MegaFood CEO | September 27, 2018 | As a husband and father of two daughters, I care a lot about the nutritional quality of the food my family and I eat every day.
| Abigail McShinsky | August 21, 2018 | At MegaFood, we’re a passionate bunch — our vision is to nourish a world in nutritional crisis.
Let's get down in the dirt to explore just how regenerative agriculture works and how MegaFood plans to help rebuild soil health.
Regenerative agriculture is essentially nurturing the soil in such a way that we can rebuild soil organic matter, restore degraded soil biodiversity and create soil that acts as a sponge. And did we mention this can change the world?
