No, while our supplements do contain real food, they are crafted with a combination of key nutrients and real food from trusted farm partners. 

The vitamins and minerals used in supplements are synthetic forms of the nutrients. They are paired with real food from our trusted partners. While food should always be first in getting the nutrients we need, it would be impossible to get the levels of vitamins and minerals delivered in our (and other) supplements if we were to simply include just the food.

Yes! When developing a supplement routine for optimal health and wellness, people often like to combine different supplements. For example, many of our consumers pair the probiotic MegaFlora with one of our MegaFood multivitamins as part of a foundational wellness plan.  

Since each person has individual health needs, we cannot advise about specific supplement combinations and advise you to consult with your healthcare practitioner.  

MegaFood uses natural flavoring only when a product would otherwise be unpalatable, such as with multivitamin gummies. We work hard to ensure that the natural flavors we use are derived from vegetarian and Non-GMO sources and do not contain any of the "Big 9" Allergens: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacean shellfish, wheat, soy and sesame. While we are unable to provide a breakdown of all ingredients that may be present in our natural flavors as they are considered proprietary to the flavor ingredient manufacturers, we can work to rule out additional allergens on an as-needed basis.

As we have updated our labels to ensure full transparency and to meet regulatory guidelines, we now include more information on our labels than in the past. Our products and process have not changed.

We do not recommend to take any products beyond the expiration date.

Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation regarding autolyzed yeast and its relationship to MSG. In short, there is NO MSG in MegaFood products.

Statement from MegaFood's Principal Nutrition Scientist: 

 “At MegaFood we do not use autolyzed yeast to hide any inclusion of MSG. In fact, it is a misconception that autolyzed yeast produces any amount of MSG at all. It is also incorrect that MSG may legally be labeled as "autolyzed yeast" despite media articles suggesting that this is the case.”  

All MegaFood products are either vegetarian or vegan which is clearly noted on the product label. Vegan supplements are made with no ingredients derived from animals and is suitable for those who follow a vegan diet. Our vegetarian supplements, which will include all of our multivitamins are made without ingredients of animal origin except for those with Vitamin D3 (lanolin from sheep wool), GTF Chromium (l-cysteine from duck feathers), and/or L-tyrosine (from duck feathers).

Our MegaFood multivitamins contain vitamin D3. This inclusion makes them vegetarian, but not vegan because that ingredient comes from lanolin from sheep wool. 

It’s important to get enough iron every day, but getting too much iron can do more harm than good. For that reason, it is generally not recommended for men to have iron in their multivitamin, unless specifically recommended by a healthcare practitioner. The same is true for women after menopause, since they are no longer losing iron on a monthly basis. For that reason, our entire collection of Men’s Multis, along with Women 55+ One Daily, and Women’s 55+ Advanced Multivitamin do not contain iron.   

Our MegaFood probiotics are intended for ongoing daily use. However, some people may need to take probiotics more or less frequently. So, it’s important to speak with a healthcare professional to determine the proper dosage for you.
