Manufacturing Associate (Packaging) - 3rd shift

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

  • Ensures the packaging line is set up properly using the photo standard.
  • Follows and comprehends written instructions/requests. Must be detail oriented, accurate and able to work independently
  • Assists with shipping product
  • Performs annual inventory for the packaging materials
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. This includes lifting trays from bins above shoulders

Responsible for day-to-day regulatory functions including dietary supplement labeling and marketing material review, claim substantiation and international export support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain positive rapport and working relationships within and across departments, including Marketing, in relation to promotional issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations and policies enforced by the Federal (FDA, FTC, CPSC) and State (Prop 65) and Foreign (as required to service sales) governments as they relate to dietary supplements and assist the Director of Regulatory Affairs in establishing procedures to assure compliance with these requirements.
  • Assure regulatory compliance of all Marketing materials including, promotional materials and labeling.
  • Responsible for reviewing dietary supplement product labels and labeling including marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes relating to advertising and promotion, being familiar with new Guidance for Industry.
  • Work closely with legal counsel to understand and interpret new guidance and interpretation and communicate positions to the executive team.
  • Manage Regulatory projects as assigned by the Director of Regulatory Affairs including organizing Health Canada product submissions and approvals and the subsequent coordination with the New Product Development (NPD) Team for labeling purposes.
  • Ability to obtain and monitor third party certifications such as Non-GMO Project Verified, USDA Organic and NSF Gluten-Free, especially when working with both established and new co-manufacturers.
  • Work with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Sales, and Legal Departments, in support of initiatives and process and review of promotional materials and the New Product Development Team (NPD) and review of new product labeling.
  • Support development of launch materials/new claims by collaborating with Marketing, Regulatory and Legal.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4-6 years directly related experience
  • Experience with dietary supplement labeling guidelines preferred
  • Experience with leading third-party certifications required
  • FDA and FTC experience preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree in science required
  • A Master’s of Science in Regulatory Affairs preferred
  • RAC certification preferred
  • Must be extremely detail & deadline oriented; well organized.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Conscious interpersonal skills; ability to interact with staff on all levels.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision

Inventory Analyst

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for all aspects of inventory accuracy and for establishing processes and controls to maintain accurate inventory levels. Requires ongoing analysis of data, identifying and tracking Key Performance Initiatives (KPI) and overseeing processes and controls for inventory management and cost reduction.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages co-manufacturing inventory reconciliation and work order consumption
  • Coordinates raw material shipments to co-manufacturers
  • Ensures work order completion in a timely manner including standard cost analysis.
  • Review work order WIP for aging.
  • Manages off site inventory reconciliation and cycle counts.
  • Manages cycle count transactions and discrepancy investigation (inside and outside inventories).
  • Oversees audit of cycle counts to ensure accuracy and adherence to process.
  • Monitors inventories for code date concerns and expiring product.  
  • Creates and tracks disposal forms and approvals.  Follows through to physical disposal.
  • Oversees the systematic movement to company store and ensuring physical moves took place.
  • Investigation of any customer complaints related to shortages/overages.
  • Oversees Root cause analysis and corrective action/improvement projects related to inventory accuracy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be execution oriented with a high level of accuracy. Pay attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize.
  • Requires a bias toward action, practices data-based decision making.
  • Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills.  Position will need to communicate internally and externally and at various levels of organizations
  • Must have proven problem solving skills and strong analytical skills
  • 5 years of inventory control/analysis a must; CPG experience desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets a must
  • The ability to travel (up to 15%) is required.

Leads organization-wide development of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance systems.   Assures compliance to standards by internal operations through oversight of SOP, training and auditing programs.  Leads continuous improvement projects that proactively upgrade systems to achieve best in class performance.  Influences functional leadership to own systems that assure food safety, quality and regulatory compliance.   Leads team members to embrace company values and deliver performance through effective day-to-day mentoring, development planning, effective goal setting, and example.  Possesses capabilities to interact externally to develop industry best practices at MegaFood. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Resolve Food Safety and Quality systems issues.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners including Manufacturing, Customer Experience, Regulatory, and R&D in a manner that drives long-term success.
  • Lead direct reports modeling company values and delivering performance objectives.
  • Develop metrics and reporting systems for tracking food safety, quality and regulatory performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action processes of internal operations.
  • Oversee customer and consumer complaint system performance.
  • Lead development of Food Safety team and system for managing food safety.
  • Assure compliance to Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
  • Lead and enhance auditing process of internal operations.
  • Key member of label design team that assures regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for internal operations.
  • Lead specification system enhancements.
  • Train employees in quality procedures and methods.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. in science or engineering;
  • 7+ years in a similar Quality role in food manufacturing.
  • Ability to lead and influence others internally and externally to achieve quality goals.
  •  Knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as statistics, Lean methods, SixSigma concepts, and other Quality Engineering methods.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs in FDA regulated consumer products, HACCP systems and plant operations. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.  Demonstrated skills presenting to small groups and responding effectively to questions.  Well skilled in writing reports to convey information and persuade others.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to travel 10%.

Purchasing Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

Timely acquisition of quality raw materials and supplies required to produce MegaFood products as well as co-manufactured bulk and finished goods.  Development of procurement and sourcing strategies and functions that ensure we have what we need, when we need it and at the best price. Reducing overall risk related to supply base.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and implement purchasing and sourcing strategies while  implementing best practices.
  • Establish, build, and maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers & co-manufacturers; manage supplier meetings.
  • Partner with Quality, Planning and Innovation teams to understand needs and requirements related to the sourcing/procurement of materials and goods
  • Establish inventory safety stock levels, reorder amounts, and lead times for all raw materials.
  • Key member of the New Product Development (NPD) Leadership Team regarding sourcing new and alternative materials, components and/or packaging for new products/innovation.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions for all issues relating to supplier’s performance based on quality, delivery or price.
  • Establish key metrics to monitor suppliers/co-manufacturers performance related to quality and service.
  • Monitor market conditions to avoid sharp market increases and availability issues and communicate risks/opportunities to team members and management.
  • Manage and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers regarding invoices, claims, and product non-conformance or quality issues.
  • Develop, implement and communicate KPIs, scorecards and roadmaps to meet or exceed targets.
  • Provide relevant forecasts to key suppliers and co-manufacturers at required time points to ensure product availability.
  • Provide finance with raw material and purchased finished goods costs to assist in maintaining product costing.
  • Oversee the development or improvement of SOPs and work instructions for procurement and sourcing functions as well as supplier monitoring practices.
  • Manage team activities to achieve seamless product transfer to and from the co-mans to the finished goods warehouse, ensuring alignment with the overall project timing and goals.
  • Investigate and resolve any invoice discrepancies that arise with supply base.
  • Develop and manage vendor agreements, contracts, confidentiality disclosure agreements, and scope of work agreements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • BS or BA in Business Administration or Management,  or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of procurement and sourcing experience with 5+ year managing direct staff.
  • 5+ years of experience in the food or nutrient processing/manufacturing industry preferred
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing requirements, organic and non-gmo standard and quality testing specifications
  • A strong understanding of business growth through the product development process.
  • Experience in Supply Chain sourcing for natural food, dietary supplements or HABA, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, Google Drive and ERP systems.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 20%)
  • Proven track record of controlling/reducing spend as % of gross sales while developing a robust supplier base.
  • A proven track record of continuous performance including attending conferences/workshops to advance skills as well as knowledge and relationships within the procurement profession.

Maintenance Mechanic: 2nd or 3rd shift

Customer Experience Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

Organize, plan, and monitor company’s customer service operations to provide outstanding service to MegaFood customers. Responsibilities include oversight of Customer Experience Team, formulating policies and managing daily operations to enhance the customer experience. This role works closely with customers, as well as our Sales, Operations, Numbers and Leadership Teams.  May be required to participate in direct customer service responsibilities when needed to support the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational oversight of all Customer Experience team activities.
  • Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, order entry, phones, email, returns, credits, customer service management, and department expenses.
  • Ensure accurate data is entered and that systems are configured and utilized to drive accurate reporting for decision making.
  • Provide and analyze team metrics and data as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Production, Numbers and Planning teams to support our customers.
  • Responsible for achieving the company’s strategic and tactical objectives for the Customer Experience team.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to new hires on the CE team as well as on an ongoing basis, including call monitoring and feedback.
  • Establish schedules and assign work to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining and leveraging staffing including hiring, promoting, coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement training programs and improvement processes to enhance quality and service level in the department.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the order entry module within NAV.  Identify areas for system improvement and functionality and drive improvement plans to become best in class.
  • Serves as a point of escalation as well as a backup Customer Experience resource within the team as needed.
  • Establishes a high performing culture consistent with MegaFood’s core values.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in customer service management and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices. Make recommendations for improvements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree with a minimum of 8 years of Customer Service experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a directly related position, with proven ability to manage a high performing team.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, Google Drive and ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Customer Experience best practices.
  • People Development:  Models and coaches behavior, builds team consensus to enable execution on established plans. Provides real time performance feedback and longer term development for team. Sincerely recognizes individual and team contributions in a meaningful way.
  • Business Planning:  Able to mobilize a team to get things done. Embraces change, flexible, willing to quickly pivot with evolving business priorities. Effectively manages to established budget.
  • Results Orientation: Execution oriented, typically focused on established goals for month to month business performance. Pays attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize and delegate. With a bias toward action, practices data-based decision making. Highly self-motivated, always seeking to make it better.
  • Problem Solving: A process driven continuous improvement champion, helps to implement processes to solve problems and fill gaps. Makes recommendations and drives accountability with others. Inclusive in decision making to gain feedback and buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Effectively listens, communicates, influences, negotiates, aligns and establishes trust within teams, across peer groups and external partners. Manages up, down and out using the appropriate medium (written, verbal, Asana, etc.). Open, curious and committed to self-improvement. Demonstrates good judgment and intuition around the subtleties of group dynamics and the impact of words and actions.
