Director of DTC Marketing

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

The Director of DTC Marketing is responsible for MegaFood's digital revenue generation strategy. This includes the management of both owned 1st party ecommerce and direct to consumer strategy as well as customer marketing for 3rd party channels such as Amazon.com, and several smaller internet retailers.

The position also manages the strategic and tactical direction of our digital efforts to drive awareness and conversion online. The Director will lead integrated marketing strategy and drive growth through data-driven marketing, digital demand generation campaigns and product positioning.

Strategy:

  • Develop and execute robust ecommerce marketing and revenue generation strategy with short and long term KPIs.
  • Develop customer acquisition and retention strategies (email marketing, loyalty / subscription programs). Develop and manage execution of SEO/SEM strategy.
  • Develop and manage execution of all digital marketing initiatives including email, paid media, and promotions.
  • Develop and manage execution of strategies which increase traffic, conversion rates, and average order value across all ecommerce channels and partner sites.
  • Create online promotion calendar and work closely with Brand Management to coordinate efforts in retail.

Analytics:

  • Must be able to qualitatively and quantitatively measure results and achieve financial goals and KPIs using Micosoft Excel, Google Suite, and new analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in social and digital analytics, including but not limited to site traffic, conversion, spend, click-through rate, etc. Manage and track media budgets and sales forecasting for online.
  • Conduct online surveys, A/B testing, and the ability to effectively analyze feedback.

Management & Communication:

  • Ability to develop and manage a resource network to accomplish implementation needs.
  • Ability to manage design and development teams to create high quality websites and landing pages that result in increased sales.
  • Ability to work directly with Logistics and Supply Chain departments to achieve exemplary consumer and customer experiences, ensure inventory for promotions, and focus promotional strategy on short code product.
  • Work with Brand Management to prepare and execute the digital aspect of new product launches into market.
  • Work directly with Communications Manager to use social media, content, influencers and PR to support E-Commerce strategy.
  • Must have experience selling and managing online marketplaces - Amazon / Walmart.com

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10+ years experience in an ecommerce management position.
  • Experience with ecommerce and digital marketing platforms such as shopify, mailchimp and adobe creative suite.
  • Experience deploying a successful email marketing automation program.
  • Experience leading web development projects.
  • Must have extensive experience selling and marketing products on Amazon.com.
  • Extensive knowledge of e-commerce platforms, technology, trends and sophisticated analytics.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Set the strategic direction for all Quality functions including organization, administration and management.  Responsibilities include ensuring the company’s products are manufactured in a manner that is consistent with applicable cGMPs and meet all relevant quality standards, including the company’s own high quality standards. Leading and overseeing the company’s Analytical Lab, managing the company’s quality control and assurance programs, and establishing and maintaining appropriate Quality processes, policies and standard operating procedures to achieve the company’s objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop organizational structure and fostering talent management, including performance and succession planning.
  • Create a dynamic work environment that supports an innovative, efficient and flexible organization.

  • Develop departmental expertise with respect to testing and documentation 
  • Develop collaborative and strong working relationships across the company 
  • Develop and coordinate the Quality Control laboratory activities and capabilities to provide timely, accurate and GLP/cGMP compliant testing of raw materials, in-process materials, bulk and contract manufactured materials.
  • Guide the Quality Control team to ensure the company has robust product stability programs for domestic and international products.
  • Oversee the approval of all specifications, procedures and formulas that impact the strength, quality, purity, and efficacy of manufactured and contract-manufactured products.
  • Ensures the proper investigation into the root cause of product and/or process failures, and assists in determining appropriate product disposition and/or process improvements.
  • Ensures any external laboratories used by the company comply with GLP standards.
  • Interfaces with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Manufacturing and R&D teams to help ensure the successful launch of new products.
  • Collaborates with R&D and/or outside contract labs to ensure seamless method validation and transfer.
  • Establishes and manages the Quality budget and provides periodic forecast updates consistent with business operating plans and requirements.
  • Guides the activities of the Quality Assurance and Supplier Assurance groups to ensure compliance with applicable cGMPs, GLP and HACCP, and all relevant quality standards.
  • Oversees the quality evaluation and approval of raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers and outside laboratories.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related sciences.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Manager of Quality preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred.
  • Requires eight to twelve years’ experience in dietary supplement, food or pharmaceutical testing laboratory operations that includes a minimum of five years managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a collaborative environment with a positive leadership style and a hands-on approach that emphasizes team work, influencing, motivating, and consensus building
  • A strategic thinker with strong business acumen
  • A critical thinker with strong deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • A comprehensive knowledge of chemical and microbial analysis, manufacturing operations, sanitation, GMP’s and GLP’s and the theories and general principles behind them.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of compliance with cGMP regulations, Food, Dietary Supplement and Drug laws and federal and state safety requirements.  .
  • An understanding of laboratory equipment such as HPLC, ICP, Spectrophotometer, GC, FTIR and dissolution apparatus.

Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance standards and processes. Manages quality improvement activities. Creates common business specific quality measurements and track improvement against these metrics. Works cross-departmentally to assist with ongoing projects. Performs other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintains Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Administration Product Manufacturing facilities by adhering to the documentation structure to provide cGMP compliance.
  • Manages Organic Administration support Certifications, Kosher certification and Canadian Registration
  • Manages Internal Audit Program and conduct cGMP audits on all manufacturing and support processes.
  • Assists manufacturing in preparing for Regulatory Audits including conducting internal audits to identify non-compliance conditions and resolve problems prior to the audit. Ensure corrective actions are effective
  • Performs Mock-Recall audit - Choose representative product and follow all interim inventories from raw material, bulk & finished product through the manufacturing facility and finally to the ultimate customer with available shipping data/contacts for each shipment
  • Conducts investigation into non-conformances identified through the customer complaint program and prepare final reports
  • Manages Customer Complaint process including ensuring that corrective actions are timely, complete and effective.
  • Conducts specification and label reference review for new or changed labels.
  • Conducts data analysis and experiments to analyze trends and improve performance of manufacturing processes
  • Prepares pre-audit documentation and participate in customer audits as appropriate
  • Prepares corrective action plan and track completion of activities
  • Perform Supplier Qualification Audits as necessary
  • Perform duties of the FDA Recall Coordinator
  • Lead a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) multidisciplinary team to provide a preventive approach to food safety.
  • Manages people within the Quality Assurance organization to achieve goals that maximize our effectiveness and achieve our quality vision.
  • Manages a CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) program to provide root cause analysis in reducing the amount of non-conformances in the Operations group.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years related experience in Quality systems and Management.

Language Ability:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Math Ability:  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Database software

  • Assist with annual and quarterly forecasting
  • Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models

REQUIREMENTS:

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

The Administrative Coordinator will be focused on execution of all administrative tasks by working closely with the Strategic Sales team to ensure flawless execution of account paperwork, events and initiatives. This dynamic, internal-facing role requires the ability to support the day to day ongoing goals, objectives and management of the details associated with supporting strategic channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Assist in the execution of all strategic project initiatives.
  • Responsible for processing all account paperwork including new item forms, discontinued item forms, promo submissions, promo calendar publishing and updates, new items presentations and sample delivery.
  • Support Managers with all internal communication including accounting items, invoice questions, co-op tracking and marketing projects such as sell sheets and POS materials.
  • Oversee internet compliance and administrative management for internet accounts.
  • Organize and format presentations, roll out guides, and field updates.
  • Manage internal communications regarding product ship times for promotions, events, new stores and new sku placement.
  • Responsible for managing all portals and the logistical portions of price increases or product changes needed.
  • Responsible for budgeting, staffing, organizing set up of table top shows, special events  and pop up events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years administrative experience in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office knowledge and proficiency in Google apps

Performs routine release testing on finished goods

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

• Tracks and releases finished goods
• Maintains both hard copy and electronic files
• Tracks and release raw materials
• Maintains retain samples for finished goods and raw materials
• Verifies changes on new labels
• Inspects finished labels from label suppliers
• Conducts audits on bottling line and all the manufacturing processes
• Tracks and releases finished goods
• Conducts process inspections/audits on critical processes
• Records inspection results
• Maintains reserve and stability samples of finished goods
• Consistently promotes and maintains a harmonious/productive team effort
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience is preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • The ability to work overtime two Saturday's a month, primarily on 1st shift but occasionally on 2nd or 3rd shift .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms daily
  • Cleans, dusts, and wipes furniture; sweeps, mops, or vacuums floors; empty/clean sorting stations; replaces light bulbs; refills restroom dispensers
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of facilities for meetings, conferences, events, etc.
  • Utilizes vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, and exterior of facility etc.
  • Removes or debris from sidewalks and stairs of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be able to understand and follow standard operating procedures and demonstrate the ability to work from verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, crouch, stoop, bend, kneel, climb up ladders and stairs and perform work over head
  • Must be able to stand long periods of time
  • Works overtime as required

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for corporate-wide compliance with all applicable laws and regulations affecting the labeling, advertising and composition of products made for foreign and domestic markets

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for company-wide compliance with all applicable laws and regulations affecting the labeling, advertising and composition of products made for foreign and domestic markets.
  • Provides guidance to the Regulatory team to ensure that existing and new products and new and existing campaigns comply with all applicable domestic and foreign laws, rulings and regulations affecting the use of ingredients, labeling and advertising and claims usage.
  • Provides guidance to and partners with Marketing and Sales on product concepts, claims and formulations to assure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including FDA and FTC requirements
  • Monitors the development of and assesses the impact of new and proposed changes in laws, rulings, regulations and enforcement activities impacting the use of ingredients, product safety, labeling and advertising.  Submits comments on proposed changes to regulatory agencies as deemed appropriate. Communicates new requirements and changes within the organization, and assures compliance.
  • Helps identify and address potential patent and trademark issues in conjunction with in-house legal counsel.
  • Oversees the team in managing foreign product registration requirements.
  • Participates in appropriate CRN Committees and Task Forces.
  • Assists in researching and responding to issues related to litigation and other legal matters
  • Develops staff, drives budget accuracy and participates in cross functional leadership meetings and projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a BA degree, preferably in the physical or life sciences. Masters degree a plus.
  • A certification from Regulatory Affairs Professional Society is a plus.
  • Requires at least five years experience in regulatory affairs, with an emphasis on regulatory issues related to dietary supplements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the manufacture and marketing of dietary supplements
  • A working knowledge of nutrition and health sciences
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinker with good business acumen
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good project management capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Self-starter as well as strong team player
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure good customer service
  • Proven experience leading, developing, mentoring and a staff
  • Quick learner with strong problem solving skills
